Crimes against humanity and cultural genocide are the only things to see now in Tibet.

Nowhere in his book does he say he was raped. The form of homosexual sex in which he was forced to participate does not necessitate rape. It is often described as a form of masturbation for the active partner. In the absence of Tashi Tsering stating that he was raped (given his usual frankness, I would expect he would have said so, had rape been the case), we cannot assume that he was.

According to travelers, many Tibetan villages (inside and outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region, which only represents a portion of the old Tibet) remain without schools, and the local monasteries continue to function as schools. This, in spite of a law the Chinese passed after the invasion, requiring a minimum age of 18 to enter the monasteries. The purpose of the law was to eliminate the sexual abuse of child monks. In the absence of schools, the atrocity of routine child sexual abuse continues in some area, tragically.
