Shame! Shame on the Buddhist Teachers of Japan! To selfishly grow closer to the Buddha, you withdrew yourselves from the people. You isolated yourselves in your temples and your monasteries. You removed Heaven's Sparks from the nation. In that vacuum only Evil remained. What did you think would happen to Japan when you did that? Go back! Go back now! Get on your knees and beg forgiveness. Kiss the feet of the victims! Kiss the feet of the government officials and the emergency responders to this tragedy. Kiss the hem of the gown of the dead! Ask for their forgiveness. DO IT NOW!

This comment is reply to post at: http://tibet-incense.com/blog/buddhism-in-japan-may-be-dying-out/
Thank you for this article and for keeping it posted... I see the actual date of the article was 2 years ago. I wonder what has occurred over this past 2 years? Any renewed interest in Buddhism within Japan?
Very sad to see that it's a dying part of the Japanese culture. To me, Buddhism is a rich spiritual practice and way of life. The beautiful architecture of the temples in Japan reflect in a symbolic way the naturalness, spaciousness, and simplicity...
It is sad to see that the Japanese people have lost interest in Buddhism, and now moved towards commercialism and materialism.

We had been scanning something else regarding this on another blog. Interesting. Your linear perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what We examine before. I'm nevertheless mulling over the actual various points associated with look at, however I'm leaning heavily toward your own own. And no matter, that's what is therefore extremely regarding modern democracy and the industry associated with thoughts on-line.

I have lived in Japan and at temples. I am a long time Soto Zen Buddhist practitioner and I am American.

I would like to take over a temple so the tradition does not die out.
Contact Shodo at zen.zazen@yahoo.com if I can be of help. Gassho
