There are thousands of towns Lopon Teschu Rinpoche visited in the West, and this was the first mayor who wanted to build a stupa. So there must be what we call a very strong karmic connection.

In the LonelyPlanet guide this place is reffered to as a citadel. The word used is not “fort” or “fortress” which are more common, it’s specifically citadel, synonymous to a stronghold.
