There are thousands of towns Lopon Teschu Rinpoche visited in the West, and this was the first mayor who wanted to build a stupa. So there must be what we call a very strong karmic connection.

The monks laboriously created the sand mandala by memory over about 5 days, and then ritually destroyed it. Doing this illustrates everything’s impermanence.
