The sand mandala of Yamantaka, complete after eleven days of careful construction. This afternoon it will be ritually transformed, destroyed, to represent the impermanence of all things and to demonstrate the importance of non-attachment, central to the tenets of Buddhism.
Tibetan monks are finishing to create the Yamantaka sand mandala.
The Yamantaka Mandala has reached the stage where only the final surrounding circle, representing samsara, is to be completed.
