Vajrasattva Yab Yum

Vajrasattva (Tib. Dorje Sempa) is shown here in Yab Yum (union), with his consort Vajragarve (Tib. Dorje Nyema). In his right hand he holds a silver vajra (dorje), and in his left hand he holds a golden upturned bell at his heart. Vajrasattva is an important bodhisattva in both Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions. In Tibetan Buddhism Vajrasattva practices are common to all schools. The Vajrasattva purifies karma, and brings peace and enlightenment to devotees. Vajrasattva is also been invoked during purification practices.
